Wyatt dancing

Wyatt had his play yesterday, he was one of the Cowboy Joe's. He did a great job on his lines. They square danced, sang, play the drums, all kinds of things. They have a great music teacher.

It's a new post with pictures!!

Wyatt our "Ham bone" is really on one tonight.

Do I look like a deer in the head light. This is me on Sunday night. After our primary program in sacrament meeting and news of my new calling "11 year old scouts" . My dad has been in this calling many times. He had lots of ideals for me. He also informed me I wouldn't be going on any camp out with the boys because that is against the rules. So that will be nice.

Rens new favorite treat is cinnamon toast. He loves it.

Don't pay attention to my messy kitchen I have already clean it once today.

I made peach pie with some frozen peaches. It was a big hit.

School Board anyone?

Doug had his first experience with the school broad tonight. They had a get to know the candidates and a question and answer meeting. He did a really good job. He didn't even embarrass me. (I asked him not to do that.) It will be on the Greybull channel for a few weeks if you want to watch and be bore. It will be interesting to see what the paper says. He differently let the people know his opinion on things good or bad. The people that are rerunning said things like "I will have to think about that". It was really weird how they didn't answer the questions. I wounder if anyone else noticed that. Let me know how you think Doug did, we are curious.

Hunting Report

Doug called last night. He still hasn't got anything. I'm worried he is going to spend 5 days on the mountain and come home empty handed. He is have a great time and I guess that is worth something.
I started baby sitting. Everyday, I'm really surprised I said yes. Her name is Ainsley and she is 5. Her mom is Weston's teacher at school. Ren is enjoying her. We had our first taste of pink pony movies and barbies sing along. All I'm going to say about that is "WOW"!
We have a busy friday, every boys is having someone over after school. I'm planning on going to the Homecoming Football game tonight. I don't know how long I will last with all those kids and just me. I hope I survive.
I'm hoping to get over to Cody tomorrow and start some Halloween costumes. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Birthday Mom

I tried to make it Moms birthday all day yesterday. Just like me.
My Mom has always been a good friend and support to me. We are alike in so many ways. When Kristin and Tricia went to college I really got to know her. We love to shop together. She taught me to buy things that go together. We used to walk around the Mall for hours trying to find the right outfit. I love her hand me down. My new favorite shirt she gave me.
Wyatt called her last night to sew him a costume for Halloween. She is always ready to help in anyway. I love that my kids love her so much, she serve them and loves the so much. She is such a big part of my life, and I'm so greatful for her. We love and miss you. See you next month. We are excited to come for Christmas, and shop. Have a great birthday!

A hunting Kam went!

Kam was successful this morning. His deer looks pretty nice for a first timer. He did a great job. We need to say a big thank you to Grandpa and Uncle Chris.

Of course it is the typical story he missed the big one. But this is a great start and we are excited for him.

Way to go Kam!!
Laramie doesn't know what to think about this deer thing.

We will always remember the day he shot his first deer, because it is Grandma Nielson's birthday. I'm waiting for Tricia to post some picture of my mom so I can use them. hint hint
Happy birthday mom!!! I will call you when Kam can talk he want to tell you the story.

A hunting we will go!

Doug left to his hunting trip this morning. It should be a great adventure for him. I think the mountain got alot of snow. They are not sure if they can get to there camp, and if there camp will still be there under 3 feet of snow. Doug decided to get a deer tag at the last minute. He knows someone that wants the meat.
Kameron and Grandpa Jensen are going hunting tomorrow morning. Kam is spending the night at their house to make it easy on me.
We had a fun night last night. Elder Puepupo came to dinner last night. It is his last night in Greybull he has been here for 6 months. He will be driving to Billing today and flying home tomorrow. He is a little excited.
Doug didn't take the camera, so I don't know what his plan is for pictures. Oh I guess he has his phone. We will have to see how the week goes.

Crazy Story

This story happened a few weeks ago just out of the Cody mountains , where Doug want to hunt next year.

Ron, who is an experienced hunter and used to be a guide, was calling an elk for his dad, who was down hill 40 yards. The elk suddenly spooked and then Ron heard a noise behind him. He turned around and a grizzly was 15 feet behind him. He tried to shoo it away but it proceeded toward him. He went behind a tree and the bear kept coming, so he took off on his 'death run' down hill towards his dad. With the grizzly just feet behind his son, and running full speed, Ron's dad shot one arrow. Ron saw the arrow fly by his leg, unsure of whether it hit the bear, and within a few more steps, Ron was on his back with the grizzly on top of him. With is arms shielding his head, Ron kicked and punched the bear with all he had. Ron said it all went too fast and he was so full of adrenaline, he could not feel any pain at the time of the attack. When the bear continued to attack, Ron's dad, could see that the bear was bleeding badly from the arrow, and he went over and started beating on the bear with his bow(You can not carry guns during bow hunting, so he had nothing to shoot it). The bear continued to attack Ron, biting clear through his left hand and glove, and down to the bone of his right arm just below the elbow. Then the bear, stopped, looking at Ron's dad, walked away several yards, and rolled over dead.

The bear was autopsied and showed that it was well over 500 lbs(the grizzlies in that area average 350lbs) and 11 years old(which is in it's prime). Following the path of the arrow, the autopsy showed that the arrow went in, hit a main artery, then bent, and hit the heart!

A one in a thousand shot they said.

Another important fact to mention and that gave me chills is that Ron's dad had had surgery on his arm, because he had injured his arm and was not even able to pull the bow last season. This was to be his big hunt, and before the day of the attack, he had already missed two elk that were standing still. The morning of the attack, Ron's dad (also named Ron), prayed 'God please guide my arrow today'.

Little did Ron Sr. and Ron know how God would guide his arrow that day!

Amazing story I just had to share!

I can't get the pictures to load. If you are interested in seeing them leave me a comment and I will forward them to you.

Report Cards

Kameron had a great report card. His teacher is excited he isn't playing basketball, so he can do Science Olympiad. Kam was excited about that. They have a really good team and tied for 1st place last year with a Casper school.
Weston is number one in his class. His teacher loves him and said all the kids love to play with Wes. She said he needs to start writing sentences and reading harder books. More homework at home.

Wyatt did great, 2 B's. His goal this year is to get his name on the wall of fame. You have to do Addition, subtraction, and Multiplication to 26 by the time your 4 grade year is over. It is a great goal.
Cole beat out Kam for the best grades this quarter. All straight A+, we are so excited about his teacher. It is fun to see him doing so good. I think Kam was a little surprised to get beat out of the number one spot. Kam has an A- in language arts.

I have school today

The boys have parent teacher conference today. That means I get to go to school today. The teachers have asked the kids to come along. That make me nervous, they have me on such a tight schedule. Which is nice because you are done fast but it is alot of kids to get to the next class room. The boys and Doug are getting ready for hunting. Doug and his dad started reloading there own bullets. They are pretty excited about it.
Cole and Wyatt are gone with football which is nice. Brandon and Doug and talking about getting certified to ref varsity basketball. Doug is pretty excited about it, I don't think I would want to be yelled at like that. Scare!!! It is good exercise though, (run from all those parents). Just kidding (I hope).
Well I better get moving, have a great day.

Happy Birthday Dad

I have to say Happy Birthday to my Dad. He is always helping with projects around the house.
Always patient with the boys, teaching them how to fix things. Helping them develop their own testimonies of the gospel.

He is the best gift giver around, he don't go to town much, but when he does. My mom get really nervous. Happy Birthday Dad, thanks for your example to me and the love you show all of us.

update

Wyatt is on the ground, being drug by the big kid. The boys played Greybulls 6th and some 7th graders. They had a great time.
Wes and his good friend Noah, Ren eating gummy bears.
Here is Cole getting the snap. (Black socks)

Here's Cole running for his life. He is finally feeling good, he ran back a 60 yard touchdown.
I thought Ren's new underwear was cute. He really enjoys them, for about 30 minutes until he pees them and wants a new pair.

I had my first volleyball game last night. It was lots of fun. The team we played was better then us but some how we won 2 out of the 3. I don't know anyone on the team but Holly and she had to leave early. I did okay, I'm not serving very good. And oh my ace'n back, it is hard to get old.

The boys and I went to Cody yesterday for Kameron's Dr appointment. Kam is in his brace for another 4 weeks. He will start physical therapy after the 4 weeks and them be all better. No brace for football next year is the goal. Hope it works. I was sad to hear that he will miss basketball season, but he is excited about getting to hunt this year.
